Butterfly Valves
Butterfly valves are a type of quarter-turn valve that uses a disc-shaped closure element (the butterfly) to control the flow of fluid through a pipeline. Butterfly valves can have either a lug-style or wafer-style design, depending on how they are installed in the pipeline.
Butterfly valves consist of a circular disc mounted on a shaft or stem in the center of the valve body. The disc is positioned perpendicular to the flow when the valve is closed and parallel to the flow when the valve is fully open.
There are four main types of Butterfly Valves :

Double Flanged Butterfly Valves
Double flanged butterfly valves are a specific type of butterfly valve characterized by having flanges on both ends of the valve body.
Design and Construction:
• Double flanged butterfly valves feature a disc (or butterfly) mounted on a shaft in the center of the valve body.

Wafer lugged butterfly valves are a specific type of butterfly valve designed with lugs or ears on the valve body to facilitate installation and ensure proper alignment within a piping system.
Design and Construction:
• Wafer lugged butterfly valves feature a disc (or butterfly) mounted on a shaft in the center of the valve body.
