Direct acting PRDS systems operate by directly reducing steam pressure using a pressure-reducing valve (PRV) and simultaneously desuperheating the steam to a desired temperature. Pilot Operated PRDS Systems
Pilot operated PRDS systems use a combination of a pilot valve and a main valve to regulate steam pressure and temperature. The pilot valve senses changes in downstream pressure and sends signals to the main valve to adjust accordingly, ensuring precise control over steam parameters even under varying operating conditions.
